January: Make Half Your Grains Whole
January’s Nutrition theme is Whole Grains and we will be repeating some of our popular recipes like Tuna Pasta Salad and Homemade Granola. We will be discussing the parts of a whole grain; the germ, the endosperm and the bran. And we'll showcase foods from the Pantry that are whole grains, like whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, oatmeal and some breads. We will also review the health benefits of whole grains with our educational handouts.
